A delegation from the Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE – Sociedad General de Autores y Editores) visited SPA’s headquarters last April 9, 2014, thereby returning the visit of a delegation from SPA to Madrid on March 5, 2014. SGAE’s delegation, which was headed by its President, José Luís Acosta, and comprised of its CEO, Natália Garzón, its Director of Institutional Relations, Javier Martín Domínguez, and its Director of the International and Online Department, Miguel Voces, was received by SPA’s President, José Jorge Letria, by the Administrator Tozé Brito and by the Director of International Relations, Vanda Guerra.
Matters of interest to both societies were discussed during the meeting, namely those related to the online sector, common databases and the cultural cooperation program that will be developed this year for the first time.
Restating specific and common interests, SPA and SGAE have clearly defined, at this stage of their existence in a context of national crises, possible complementary goals and actions. Let it be reminded that both societies are members of the Board of Directors of the European Grouping of Societies of Authors and Composers, headquartered in Brussels.
